Plan sheets are the detailed prints of a proposal. You can view posted plan sheets and 3D models (if supported by your agency), to better aid your estimation. You can also set your Bid Express messages to notify you when plan sheets are posted.

Note: Not all agencies post plan sheets, and you must be signed up for the online plan sheet service to access them.

If the proposal has plan sheets, you will see the Plan room option for the proposal and a count of available files.  Select this option.

The Bid Express® service keeps a record for the agency of contractors that downloaded plan sheets.

 

Access plan sheets

Posted plans may not be the latest version or may not include recently posted addenda or amendments not yet updated here.  Official plan sheets can be found on the agency website.

To access plan sheets on the Bid Express® service:

  1. Click the lettings tab if you are not already there.
  2. Select the Letting Date of the proposal.
  3. Select the proposal.
  4. Select the Plan room link to view the plans. A Plan room slide-out will appear and you can select either the 3D Models option (if supported by your agency) or the Drawings option, which contain standard plan sheet files.

View plan sheet drawings

You can download PDF plan sheets by selecting the Drawings option, and click the down arrow icon. Click the eyeball icon to view the plan sheet.

View 3D model plans

To view 3D modeled plans (if supported by your agency), select the 3D Models option and select the eyeball icon.  You can also click the checkbox next to each 3D model file and select the Model viewer button at the bottom of the Plan room slide-out.

The Model viewer will allow you to perform the following actions:

  • Measure - Determine the length of aspects of the 3D model
  • Create Cross Section - Click on an element to create a cross section
  • Fit - center the model within the viewer
  • Presets - update the preset view from top, bottom, left, right
  • Camera - Change the camera view from Orthographic to Perspective
  • Appearance - View the 3D model in a wireframe or show all
  • Settings - Change the style of measure systems from Imperial to Metric

 

When you are finished with the plan sheets, click the proposal number in the navigation trail to return to the proposal detail page.
